Great to see you back. And yes! I agree. We get in the way of ourselves way too much! We second guess and listen to the bullshit ‘success stories hype’.. you don’t have to be some big wig to be successful, if you can be yourself and be kind you’re already miles ahead of so many others. Relax and enjoy the ride.

This feels delusional. I'm in my early-60s, qualified, experienced, redundant. In this economic climate where there are 100s of applications per job ad, I am not what employers are looking for. Even if I step outside my field, which I *love*, I cannot get work.

Without income, I am powerless, struggling to survive, let alone be seen. Each day is a grind - to get up, to shower, to eat, to wonder who I am when I cannot be who I am - or even be who I'm not.

This is the reality for so many. Being a 19yo butterfly is not within our grasp.

Sounds like things are rough for you at the moment. I’m sorry to hear that. It sucks that you’re redundant. It sucks you’re not feeling seen, valued and employable in the today’s economic and employment hellscape.

I heard enough frustration in that comment to know you still give a shit and want better. You’re right to feel that way. You deserve better.

Take that frustration and channel it by taking a risk on doing some new. Your skills and experience are extremely valuable and people need you.

The perverse benefit of feeling at your lowest is the permission slip approach. As in, “hey, it can’t get any worse, I may as well fuck some shit up and give it a go.”

Anyway, I hope today’s a good day. Eat something nice and look after yourself. You’re doing great. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
